You don't go to Ninh Binh for the town itself, but for all the things around it - especially Tam Coc and Hoa Lu. Ninh Binh is the crossroads for numerous unmissable sites in the region. There's no problem finding somewhere to eat and to stay.
Rather than staying in the middle of town it's better to choose one of the inns in the surrounding countryside.
Less than 100 km from Hanoi, Ninh Binh is a town with super natural decor, in the heart of Ha Long Bay on Land.
I recommend you stay long enough in Ninh Binh to give you time to visit the surroundings, preferably by bike.
I'd like to give an insight into Hué, a tourist town that was once an imperial city and is famous throughout the country for its food! But what tourists often don't realise is that there are numerous wonderful sites just a few kilometres from this town that are seldom visited but are nonetheless authentic and magnificent
