The open green tea plantations are just magnificent and, for me, are a place you absolutely must go to when on a trip to Korea.The location, very photogenic, is often used in films and Korean dramas. You can climb to the top of the plantation where the view is really amazing. After this climb in the sun, come back down through the forest where you'll see a little waterfall and a stream. There are several Korean squirrels, striped and smaller than their European counterparts, in the surroundings. Returning to the bottom of the tea fields, take a sweet or savoury break in the plantation's restaurant where all dishes are made using green tea.
You can then go to the museum next door where you'll learn everything about Korean tea in terms of its production and also of its history. Then, you can go to explore Yulpo beach.
If you have the chance, go to Boseong during the Green Tea Festival in May, or the Green Tea Plantation Light Festival in winter.
