My suggestion

You will be offered a dual tour of the islands - make reservations in Paracas. However, if you want to avoid going the rest of the way on the second excursion and you have the funds, avoid this option and hire the services of a local taxi.

Warning for those affected by sea sickness: the boats are small and the movement caused by the waves can be quite violent. However, the beauty of the place will soon make you forget your seasickness.
