During my tour of South Island, I planned to spend half a day at Invercargill and I admit it was too long. Lots of the shops were closed and those that were open had nothing of interest. I stopped at the local brasserie, which had just set up in new premeses. I saw some interesting buildings in the center of Invercargill such as Water Tower and St. Mary's Basilica, but I didn't want to hang around. <a href="/new-zealand/">So I headed to Bluff</a>, where I discovered a beautiful walk along the coast to Stirling Point, at the southern tip of South Island. For me, Invercargill is a place to stock up on supplies, take a tour of the museum and then move on.
