When I went to Namo Buddha I left from Dhulikhel and it took me 5 hours. The path was not sign posted and I had to stop several times to find out where I was. The walk is very nice.
On the other hand, I was a bit disappointed because I was expecting a path deep in the hills, that felt very spiritual. The monastery is very big and has lots of monks but I didn't see anything really interesting. I couldn't talk to anyone, or visit any of the rooms. However, the buildings hard up against a hill are majestic and very impressive. The only interesting thing is the stupa which is not as big as the one at Bodanath.
At the bottom of the stupa I was disappointed to see there were some souvenir shops.
I went down through the forest which I really enjoyed and came out next to some small stupas and little restaurants. It's quite touristy but still charming and peaceful. I had a really good time, very characteristic of my <a href="/nepal/">trip to Nepal</a>, drinking tea with some Nepalese who had brought me back to town.
