My suggestion

Get up very early. On the one hand, you will avoid the hordes of visitors, and on the other, you will enjoy the fabulous sunrise over the pyramid. So beautiful! Also, don't try to save money here, employ a guide. I guarantee he will give you chills!

The archaeological site of Chichén Itzáis on the Yucatan peninsula, in Mexico. Visiting this unique historic site during a trip to Mexico gives you the chance to learn a lot about the legendary Maya civilization.

My suggestion

During my visit I explored Chichén Itzá's cenote. It is said that the Mayans thought it was sacred, and threw in (human!) offerings to the god of the earth.

Chichén Itzá is the most wonderful monument of the Mayan civilization and the biggest tourist site in Yucatan. It is 120 km from Mérida. It's a superb archaeological site and on no account to be missed.

My suggestion

Every evening there is a grandiose show on the site. But be careful, there is no night bus to take you back afterwards. So you have to sleep in the village.
