The pre-Colombian era saw extraordinary civilizations flourish; and many locations in Mexico still hold remnants of the time period still exist all around … The Spanish settlers also left a sumptuous heritage: their baroque architecture has been well preserved in several towns… For all of these reasons, as well as its gastronomy, music and lovely climate all year around. Clearly, Mexico can't be beat!

"God has sent the angels, it's up to you to make sure they guide your destiny". This is the town's motto, so you will understand that it is one of the most conservative towns in the country.

A very beautiful town about 200 km south of Mexico City, well known for its gastronomy, especially the famous Mole (a sauce made with spices and chocolate which is very typical of Mexico).

I had hardly arrived in Puebla during my <a href="/mexico/">trip to Mexico</a> when I discovered that the town was absolutely superb. The markings on the paved sidewalks help you find your way easily.

Take the bus from the Central del Norte station in the capital and you will reach Puebla in 3-4 hours. You have to go round the Iztaccíhuatl National Park. Puebla's charming town center is made for walking and visiting, especially Puebla's cathedral. When night falls, stay near the center of town because the cathedral and fountain are lit up at night and look really pretty. If you want to learn more about the famous battle of 5th May (when the Mexicans fought the French in 1862), then go to the 5th may interactive museum.

It has a baroque town center and is the shrine of Mexican gastronomy.
