The capital of the Kingdom of Jerusalem during the era of the Crusades, the ancient city of Acre was given UNESCO World Heritage status in 2001.
My suggestion
Save some money to spend in the market and stay in the city at least until the evening to fully appreciate the sunset over the Mediterranean from the port or the ramparts.

An ancient crossroads and important town of the Holy Land, Acre (Akko in Hebrew) or St John d'Acre, is nowadays a charming, mostly Muslim, town in the north of Israel.
My suggestion
If you decide to stay there for a night or two, choose a lodging inside the old fortified town.
