What to put in your suitcase when travelling in Costa Rica

if you are going to Central America it's difficult to make a better choice than a trip to Costa Rica. It's quite simply a magical destination. So in order to make sure that your holiday isn't spoiled by the slightest thing, check your suitcase one last time before you zip it up to go to the airport.

When it comes to clothes you need something light which enables you to bear the high and often suffocating temperatures due to the high humidity. But you also need clothes that cover your arm and legs. They will be absolutely indispensable in the jungle but also after night fall everywhere in the country to avoid mosquito bites. In the jungle you need closed toe shoes, but on the beach flip flops are better. Don't forget to take your best swim suit.

You also need a comprehensive first aid kit. As well as the usual medicines for everyday cuts and bruises, you should add mosquito repellent, and a calming cream to stop you scratching the bites too much. You should also take a good sun cream so you can tan safely without looking like a lobster after your first day at the beach. If you do get burned then a good sun burn cream can help.

Costa Rica is full of marvels and you'll want to photo everything. So don't forget your camera and enough memory cards. It's always a good idea to take a photocopy of your passport with you. It will be useful if you lose the original. If you are travelling under your own steam then you will need an international drivers license to rent a car. A credit card is essential for withdrawing money and paying for purchases.
