When you arrive at the entrance of the Marino Ballena National Park, a guide explains the rules of the park and you must pay an entrance fee of 6 dollars per person. Then you can discover the lagoon and the mangroves. It is possible to go up the branch of the river in a kayak to Uvita. During this ride, you might catch site of crocodiles and turtles. 
The <a href="/costa-rica/">Marino Ballena National Park</a> is a protected space for flora and fauna, which means no cars, bikes or any other motorised vehicle, no campfires, no right to collect seashells, coral or catch wild animals, no alcohol, no knives. However, it is possible to camp. Depending on the weather conditions, you can also go snorkeling or scuba diving. 
In short, just you, a swimming costume, a beach towel and a good book. Ideal for the afternoon as we wished to spend time at the beach. Few tourists and no whales either in February (but it is possible to see them in December and April). In short, a paradise, a few Palm trees and as they say in Costa Rica "Pura Vida".
