El Choro is a portion of the famous Inca Trail, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Built by the Tiahuanaco Indians, this historic trail was improved by the Incas and then used by the Spanish settlers. Today, it is much appreciated by hikers.
The Choro trail covers 60 km and connects La Cumbre, located at over 4700 m of altitude, with the village of Chairo, at an altitude of 1200 m. This trek is renowned for the variety of its landscapes. You will discover a succession of snowy peaks, lush vegetation, exotic flowers, suspension bridges, rivers with crystal clear waters, remote villages and wild animals.
